Pagans and Vegans in U.K. Gain Workplace Rights
Workplace rights mean being able to practice your religion at work.
Examples: A christian wearing a cross and taking off for religious holidays.
A Sikh being allowed to wear a turban, grow a beard and have long hair.
A Muslim having time to pray 5 times a day.
Pagans should also be allowed to wear religious insignia and take off for holy days.
Such rights are starting to take off in the U.K.

That sounds good. I know in France women are not allowed to wear the burka which i think is religious discrimination. So does that mean you can go to work skyclad if you are Gardnerian and it is a Sabat? 🙂

Lol – to the skyclad thing, probably not. I was wondering the same thing myself about the ability to drink mead at work out of a horn on special blots.

I bet the Rastafarians will enjoy their smoke breaks. All kidding aside, this is all good unless it gets out of control, and the fundamentalists will probably abuse the privilege the most.

Must of missed this one, well done for finding it, and I will be reblogging it. Anyhow, last time I worked, (August 2008) I asked and got 2nd Feb off, happily work Easter, and if required Christmas and New Year (1st Jan) but off 31st Oct. But unless you really take the piss with a couple of months worth of Holy days off, most companies can not really argue, especially if you are willing to cover “Normal” holidays.

I must say I enjoyed the comment about the rastafarians!! (:0 Seriously though , whyis it the fundamentalists of any spiritual practice, and they all have their rabid fundamentalists are the first to complain about lack of freedoms and the first to deny freedoms to others. Perhaps I am too generic and should say sometimes deny freedoms. In line with what I am blogging about regarding the shoulds and shouldn’ts. In the “unity” there is only what “is”.
and don’t hurt anyone else.
