The Way to Stop Terrorism – Stop Spreading It
The deaths that happened in Paris last week are a horrific tragedy and a crime, and the people who committed these murders are certainly human scum.
I don’t usually post on political happenings in this blog, yet I decided that I wanted to say something because this series of events has the potential to spark either a very negative or very positive reaction.
Now this is a time of grief and people’s emotions are going to be very raw about this event. Yet we must be careful, very careful about people in positions of power manipulating our grief, anguish and fear for their own political and financial ends.
I will make it clear that I personally am no pacifist. I understand that sometimes violence is necessary for self defense, and I don’t think people should sit by idly if their lives or freedoms are in danger. Yet we must always take care to respond to crimes with justice, not to lash out in vengeance and hate.
Right now, as there was around 9/11, there is a public outcry to “do something.” Key heads of state are saying that there needs be more surveillance of the internet and our other freedoms in order to limit “terrorism.” Others are saying that this situation calls for more war, more invasions and bombing of muslim countries.
After 9/11, when America started to invade countries like Iraq and Afghanistan, the number of terrorist incidents around the world increased – not decreased, and our civil freedoms have been restricted – not improved. We now live in a time where government officials can read your emails, listen to your phone calls, and grope your genitals at an airport all in the name of “protecting your freedoms.”
The amount of hysteria about muslims is also frankly ridiculous. I rented out a basement from a muslim family for three years and I can tell you that the only gun I ever saw my Iranian landlord wield was a staple gun. Muslim communities and all serious muslim scholars around the world have been universal in their condemnation of the Paris attacks.
So is spreading more hate and terror in Islamic countries really going to make the West more safe for freedom and peace? Is this going to lead to a dialogue where our countries and their countries can find a way to peacefully coexist with one another?
Sometimes the greatest strength is restraint and sometimes the greatest wisdom is understanding. It is time to start a global dialogue for peace, justice and real freedom.

Don’t just blame America on these Attacks we got hit so we couldn’t just sit on our butts and do nothing.(9/11) There was others who invaded those places as well we wasn’t the only ones.. The British helped us etc .We try to warn about these things and no one took it really serious .France turn away when we had 9/11 but some parts of the Middle East helped us . I am sorry for the lost of what happened and it should not be at France Now Muslims that are peaceful are going to get blamed for these rogues As for the Middle East and the invade I had a cousin who lived there and said the people was not upset they wanted to be freed and what media puts up is false . I don’t know why People have views of America and lots of are not right .Listen to our media and of course it makes it worse. You don’t truly know unless you lived here but still even if you live here people are going to believe what they believed .Oh we are not all going Paganism either we all different here .Free to be what we are .Take care for whatever 2 cents is worth.

Ya then where is the evidence of the Twin Towers and the Military building that was hit ?.They hit more than shows here .Not just this .Tell me So its ok to hit one Country and its no big deal for another but when they get hit it a big deal and poor me huh? Twin Towers and other building was hit by a plane .If you don’t live here you would not fully know .People was killed and it was Terrorist ..People would only know by the crap they see and I wouldn’t trust CNN media is not all perfect.

She was pushing her views on me I didn’t ask for her links and tried to really make her go away by saying that We are not really a Empire and we do not live by Kings or Queens you know that. She was debating a view point. You were saying that she lived under a bridge and had diarrhea in her mouth. I think there is an obvious difference. As you will notice, I did not delete your other comments, just the ones that were obvious insults of character. I have rules for how people will treat each other in the comments section. Hi Metalgaia sorry about that but I felted under attack and also tried to tell her to leave me alone when I told her to pissed off. Then she had to go force her Links on me .I am wondering and I am not mad or upset but is she having her stuff removed are you talking to her as well or am I just being sent an email.. That wouldn’t be fair if it was me that she was forcing her views on me with her links Provoking me. Hi JJ,
Your so much more educated then most of us. You really do understand whats happening in the world. Not just what the TV tells us. You will make a good leader in the future when things strart to really change in the world. When the planets resources are low and people don’t have enough food to eat or gas to put in their car. I believe u will be strong for yourself, your loved ones and for others even people u don’t even know.
Remember we are all gods children even if your god is something like nauture or even goodness.
People arent born murders or racists they are taught to be that way. We need compassion and empathy for everybody. I’m so proud to be your cousin/uncle. 🙂

I am going to un follow I really like your site and I am sure you are a cool person because you like metal and pagan and such as I but I don’t like arguing where people blame one country and don’t have any real facts on what happen (9/11) .that link was missing some truths on one post. People who truly never live in America or really known this Country and they hear haysays or what others say on this place .It seems like people want to believe what they wish to hear than go to the real source instead of false information. I can’t speak for every American because we do have jerks but when one judge this Country don’t judge all the people ..Not cool when you blame one Country and when something happens to other no one tears them down. I do like all countries but I don’t travel because I worry for what I am people will judge me. I don’t go if I am not welcome but my money is .No one is perfect in any Country and we all have blood on our hands .You know animals are better than humans because they don’t really care who is who like a dog and wolf video I just seen on WordPress..Now if we could learn to be like animals maybe this world would be a bit nicer Take care and lots of wisdom to you

I guess the point I was trying to make was that I don’t like the idea of blaming one group of people by default for the crimes of a few. Once again my condolences go out to victims of the horrible tragedy that took place last week – as well as all terrorist tragedies, including 9/11 and the recent 2,000 dead at the hands of Boko Haram in northern Nigeria.
However, what I am speaking out against is a climate of fear created by a media conglomerate and political elites. It’s certainly not a polar case where certain people are always right or always wrong. However, what is alarming is when people in power can manipulate people’s fears, people’s anguish and people’s grief to commit actions of retaliation and violence.
I certainly don’t agree with sitting by and doing nothing when tragedy strikes, and I’m sorry if I gave the impression that I support such a thing.
Yet I think it’s important to take the right action, the logical action and the action that will build a road to future peace, not just retaliating out of rage. If we need to go to war with a certain group of people because that is the outcome that will make the most people safe, than so be it.
Were the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq right or wrong? Many can debate over these matters. Yet I think one can still love their country and question its actions. I myself am an American and know people that were effected in the 9/11 attacks on the Pentagon.
I support whatever action makes my country peaceful and safe for freedom. I also support actions that help make the world safe and peaceful for freedom. But I honestly don’t think our current actions are doing that. There is much more radical extremism and terrorism in the world today than there was before the 9/11 era in terms of terrorist groups. Therefore, I don’t think our current tactics are working as well as they could, despite our intentions.
Should I have brought this up on this blog? Maybe, maybe not. My intention is usually to keep things focused on the music and the spirituality, since politics are a sore subject that piss people off. I probably won’t make too many political posts in the future. However this is a spiritual blog, and what I see in the world today is the creation of a lot of spiritual extremism in many different communities – and I think politics can play a role in that – creating a lot of “us versus them” kinds of thinking. It pains me to think of the people suffering from this kind of atmosphere, and I feel like if I don’t say something, I’m almost as bad as the people spreading the hate.
I think Russell Brand makes a good point about spiritual transcendence – in that the first step is establishing peace in the world is to create peace within ourselves. I thought it was a good point to share.

I guess that’s a good point. One of my old co-workers taught adults English as a second language. He would bring up topics that pissed people off, just so they would be inspired to have a debate and talk more about it. For example one of his student’s was from China and the other from Taiwan. So he brought up Taiwan Independence on purpose so the two ladies would have a big, heated argument in English – forcing them to practice their English skills more.
But yeah, I guess it’s good to get people to question things – even if it makes them uncomfortable. Because if you really are paying attention to what is going on in the world you should be shitting bricks – definitely got some anxiety going on here about all the stuff going down in our world today. No doubt about that.

My take on this is to apply a consistent philosopy of Natural Law, do not cause harm, and to practice the art/balance of not following order. In the sense that one must Always assess right and wrong action. Not very comfortable, but refreshing,in a weird way.

Hi I am sorry for what was to come on your post I agree on what you said about media and politics Government and etc that is one thing that I guess people shouldn’t write and other thing is religion that is another bad topic .I don’t trust the media here and what got me as well upset was one post there was a link and it looked as if they was saying that There was no Twin Towers that fell or the Pentagon and its myth but we know its not. I guess the news is confusing right now because there were the attacks in Paris that killed 12 at the Charlie Hebdo headquarters. The same week, there was a Boko Haram attack in northern Nigeria that lead to the deaths of 2,000. So I thought I’d mention them both.

Yes the news is but I don’t trust CNN or some other medias because of what they said about When we hate the Middle East and I heard different stories from the Middle East that the news said the people was unhappy of us being there and I had news from inside Middle East that they was happy for us to being there from a cousin who lived there. People are going to blame us no matter what .They don’t understand .And as for the Terrorist they only know one Tool and that is Fear and many people buy into that. Well I am not going to details .I think its a waste of thinking space where can focus on better things how to try to peace with myself help others .I hope I have not offend you on anything if I have sorry.
