The Down Troddence – Shiva (Official Music Video)
Long story short: Guy plays music for a God with his own organs. Metal \M/
Location: Bangalore
Style: Death/Thrash/Folk/Groove
This music video depicts the story of Ravana’s penance for Lord Shiva’s blessing. Lord Shiva is known as the Destroyer and the transformer. Ravana was a devotee of the God Shiva. When he went to seek this blessing, he was denied by Nandi (the bull that is the mount of Shiva). Noted: If you need a body guard, try a bull!
Ravana attempted to show the bull his love for Shiva by trying to move the mountain Kailash. (Ravana does have 10 heads, so you could say his ego got to his many heads) Shiva, annoyed at this guy’s arrogance decided to show him the real strength of a God. Shiva merely had to place his toe upon the mountain to trap Ravana painfully underneath. Ravana – who was well known for his musical abilities – created a musical instrument out of his own intestines and commenced to sing praises to Shiva (that’s pretty brutal). This went on for years until Shiva finally released Ravana from his bondage.
