The 2003 The Bovine, Russia’s Private Garden Plot Act entitles every Russian to have their own land to farm.
Anywhere from 2.2 to 6.8 acres. Most of Russia’s food is organically grown in local backyards.

These kind of laws are the way forward for a lot of reasons; they can help community developement and independance, it’s also better for the environment and health and can encourage crop diversity (thus discouraging diseases). It’s unfortunate about Russia’s policies regarding religion, gender and sexuality.
